Used Packaging

We recently received some feedback on our eBay Shop which went something like this: 'For sending my stuff in a used box padded with some newspaper your postage charges are much too high. Oh, btw it arrived in good condition.'.

My initial reaction was to write a blog detailing our P&P charges which you can read here: http://wargamingtrader.com/postage-and-packing

Then I started to think in more depth about recycled packaging. Here is why we do it:

Salute 2014 Part One - Fantasy Tables

Time for my annual photo-blog of Salute, South London Warlords' big wargaming convention.

There were a lot of incredible tables this year. Starting with...

ITS 2014: Cliff Notes Edition

The 2014 Infinity Tournament System season (try saying that quickly ten times) introduced some new missions and tweaked some of the missions from the previous season.

To focus players' minds at the Spring Challenge last month I did a set of summary slides which were shown before each round. I've now added ones for the missions we didn't play at the event.

Lifeblood was one of the new scenarios for the 2014 season. It has slightly stricter army list restrictions than the other missions as you not only need some Specialist troops but also troopers with specific ammo types to destroy the crate objectives after they've been searched.

Freight Port Table - Containers & 1st Tile

More progress on the Freight Port table.

Constructed Containers

First off, a big bunch of colourful containers using the same card-wrapped-over-EPS construction method as the first one. Note that the taller pile at the back is a single piece representing four containers.

2014 Epic Winter Warmer

This Saturday I headed ninety miles up the road to Vanguard Wargaming in Bristol, for the Epic UK Winter Warmer. This is a slightly laid-back tournament with no restrictions on army lists so all sorts of experimental stuff can turn up.

Due to misjudging the length of the drive I arrived about 15m late so it was pretty much straight into the first round against Ben's Black Legion Chaos Marines.

Round One

Generally excellent scenery. This game was really an uphill struggle all the way, which turned out to be expected as I'd got paired against the winner of most of the previous Winter Warmer events. It eventually went 3-0 to Ben at the end of turn 3 but would presumably have been 5-0 if I hadn't managed to rally the remaining Plaguereaper, both Plaguehounds and a fourth formation, I think one of the Death Guard Retinues.

Death Guard Winter Warmer Progress

This Saturday I headed ninety miles up the road to Vanguard Wargaming in Bristol, for the Epic UK Winter Warmer. As always, a deadline is wonderful for getting painting done and I was prompted to make another Defiler and to get more paint on the existing models.

Defiler Seven

I started off with a couple of ideas based on Plaguebearer torsos on top of machines but ended up with no torso at all on the final model.

UK Infinity Player Locator - More Free Stuff!

Jed from Antenociti's Workshop is giving away some freebies to get more UK Infinity players on the map and we've decided to help out by adding MOAR FREE STUFF!

Here's what Jed is doing:

There’s a very handy but somewhat under-utilised ‘Infinity The Game’ player locator here: https://infinitypeople.herokuapp.com/

Epic Nurgle 'Cryxhound' Titan Painting

Following on from the conversion blog post, I've now started slapping paint on the Plaguehound conversions.

The first step was to break up the flat plane of the bases, for this I used some fragments of wall for scale and Platicine to add some hillocks.

Epic Nurgle 'Cryxhound' Titan Conversions

After not rating the EpicUK Plaguehound Titans all that highly a couple of test games including one changed my mind - horrifically short-ranged guns but horrifically nasty once they get close enough!

In keeping with the highly-converted aspect of my Death Guard army and inspired by some conversions of Cryx models on the Taccoms forums I started keeping an eye out for some cheap Bonejacks to use as the chassis. Here's the first mockup, done a couple of months ago. Suitably bulky and the sculpting style is surprisingly close to the the Jes Goodwin Reaver head.
