Infinity the Game: Demo Handouts

Legionary 2011 - Infinity Participation Report

Last Saturday was Legionary, the local wargames convention. The games club that I belong to, the Exeter Inquisition, put on two participation games: a 40k Kill Team game with a small squad of Imperial Guard facing endless waves of zombies and at the other end of the table an urban Infinity setup.

The 40k game, plus rather a lot of zombies:

Salute 2011

Last weekend I headed up to Salute with some mates, and took a few photographs on the way...

This paraglider was seen somewhere over the M5.

A very wide load, the M4 was miraculously clear once we were past it:

Renewing the Pledge

So, my first painting pledge lasted a month and a day. Not very long.

Now it's time to renew the pledge. I'm still going to finish the first batch of Nomad models before starting on the Haqqislam starter force I've got, but may well mix a few models in with the Haqq batch, in particular some more Nomads and some Yuan Yuans — mercenary drop troops.

The Shiny Has Landed

The Shiny has landed, I repeat, the Shiny has landed!

This morning a large parcel arrived from Spain.

The big box of 50% Army Packs from Infinity Week arrived. Let's take a look at the contents.

Scenery Reference Library

Having been a photographer for many years before moving sideways into being an eBay trader, I still tend to think photographically and use the observational skills built up in those years when doing gaming-related tasks.

This comes across particularly strongly when making wargaming terrain - I have a large collection of photographs of interesting details and textures to use when thinking about how a piece of scenery or terrain should be constructed/finished.

Breaking the Pledge!

Well, that didn't last long, did it? :-(

I started off with such good intentions to paint up my existing Infinity models before buying more models and although I've picked up the pace of the painting as a result, it's a mere month and a day (a year and a day would have been so much more poetic) later and I'm about to buy a pile of The New Shiny.

Painting Pledge Update

It's been two and a bit weeks since starting my painting pledge, and things are going roughly to plan.

Since then, the Spektr Sniper has been finished although it didn't come out as well as I'd hoped:

Paint the one you're with...

The Problem

Having a collection of Rogue Trader and 2nd edition 40k forces including Eldar, Squats, Chaos Marines and some Tyranids (and vast swarms of Warhammer Skaven that would blanket the earth if stupid stupid rat creatures in they ever escaped), buying new models hasn't really been an issue for me for many a year.

Then Infinity came along. Wow.
