Infinity April 2012 Previews

A couple of days late for their usual 'preview the previous month', the 'April' Infinity previews are mostly a cracking bunch.

Going right-to-left:

Yu Jing Support Pack

To some extent this is the least interesting of the previews as it's a repackage of existing models, but it gives an insight into the potential future for how support troops like Doctors and Engineers will be packaged.

ALEPH Dasyu Sniper

I know a few ALEPH players who are going to be bitterly disappointed by this one, partly becasue it's not the long-awaited Devabot and partly from the odd posing. I think he needs a handrail to be resting his elbows on for the pose to work.

PanOceania Father Gabriel Defersen

'Get outta da road, you idiot!' :-)

Not much to say about this one, a lovely one from a painter's point of view with all that fabric and the bare head.

Nomads Hellcat with Boarding Shotgun

As nice as the original Hellcat design is, this one is less cartoony and also bulky enough around the torso to look like it has ARM3. Apparently the backpack and fins are a single piece. I think this is the first reduced size Nomad gun.

Haqqislam Odalisque Box

Last and oh my word not least, the Odalisques. Following the typical 2x2 body plus 4 arm sets, these appear to have four different separate heads as well.

I already have four Odalisques due to a recent arm-swap:

However that's not going to stop me getting the new ones as you can potentially field eight in one list by having four Hafza models pretending to be Odalisques via their Holoprojectors. The only issue is that the guns are noticeably different as (like the Hellcat) the new box uses the new reduced-size Haqqislam guns - just compare the bulk of the Boarding Shotguns! I'll be curious to see if the Spitfire blister will be replaced.

For added interest, the box includes a model with an SMG, a weapon which doesn't currently exist in Infinity. There is rampant speculation on the Infinity forums to it's stats.

Personally I'm more intrigued by the 'Haris' token in that third photo, hinting at new types of Link Team equivalents in the upcoming campaigns and missions book.

Good times ahead...

Ian

EDIT - from Angel Giraldez' blog, all six Odalisque sculpts together:
